Events

As our “About” page explains, we are a community choir which employs professional soloists, conductors and repetiteurs. Although our partner orchestras have amateur members, there are also costs in their participation. We do not charge admission to concerts, though we do take a retiring collection, and members’ subscriptions do not cover all our costs.

In keeping with its community origins, the choir organizes a number of social events at which choir members can get together. Some of these also contribute to the fundraising needed to make us sustainable, and some additional events of purely fundraising character are also organized.

Next event: Quiz Night, November 2nd

Our legendary quiz night is scheduled for Saturday 2nd November. It’s at The New Kingshold community hall. Ainsworth Road E9 7LP. It’s always one of our favourite social evenings, and we are delighted to have the very talented Gary Green as our quiz master, ably assisted by Annie Davis.

Kick off is at 7:30pm light snacks are provided and a pay bar is open all evening.

We will be playing with teams of approximately 8, while it would be great to bring your own team, we will be making teams up on the night – come along and meet other members of the choir.

Tickets will be available from Sunday at choir practice or you can book via any choir member

Our 2023 events (apart from our 2023 concerts) were a Burns Night supper on February 4th, 2023, and a singing workshop on 24th June 2023 (see photos below). There was also a bric-a-brac sale on 25th June 2023.

Some pictures of other past events

Before our concerts, choir members erect and remove staging, and help set up the church for the audience and performers, and afterwards choir members contribute to a “bring and share” supper to which our partner orchestra, soloists and musical team are invited.

We run a bric-a-brac stall from time to time.
